Where could you use Synthaveil?

Six situations where sharing fewer identifying details can help. These are illustrative use cases, not customer deployment claims.

  1. CASE-01

    Data reuse and partner sharing

A partner wants to use records for a new purpose.

Start with the purpose and permissions. Then decide whether the partner needs names and addresses, or whether a reviewed copy with replacements would support the work.

    What stays your decision

Replacing fields does not supply a lawful basis or remove the need to inform people.

  2. CASE-02

    AI assistants and models

Prepare the information an assistant needs for the task.

A team wants help summarising a case file. Replace unnecessary identifiers, review free text and use an approved model. Evaluate the result before relying on it.

    What stays your decision

Check the provider’s terms, retention and access controls as well as the shared copy.

  3. CASE-03

    Vendors and contractors

Give a supplier the working detail their service needs.

A contractor testing an integration may need realistic records without needing customer names. Agree the task and access first, then test a substituted copy against those requirements.

    What stays your decision

Some services require real identities. Assess what is necessary for that specific service.

  4. CASE-04

    Analytics and internal exports

Keep useful fields while reducing copies of direct identifiers.

A reporting team groups transactions by customer. Consistent replacement identifiers can support that grouping within an agreed scope, while unneeded names are replaced. Validate the joins and calculations.

    What stays your decision

Changing values can alter analytical results. Test the properties that matter to your report.

  5. CASE-05

    Developer and test data

Exercise your software with realistic input.

Prepare representative records with substituted identifying fields. Include unusual formats and relationships in your tests; a plausible-looking sample alone will not show every production issue.

    What stays your decision

A customer-specific investigation may still need controlled access to the original record.

  6. CASE-06

    M&A diligence

Prepare a controlled copy for an agreed diligence task.

Agree who may see what before sharing. Then minimise the fields needed to assess volumes, concentration or contract terms, and review the resulting copy inside the approved data-room process.

    What stays your decision

Pseudonymisation does not settle disclosure permissions, confidentiality or controller responsibilities.

Synthaveil is a data tokenisation control; configure protection levels to match your own legal and regulatory obligations. You hold the key, so your data remains personal data in your hands; the recipient gets stand-ins with no key or mapping to link them back. All example data on this site is illustrative.
